Coach Doug Bush - Coach Bush is native of Houston, Texas
and a 1986 graduate of The University of Texas with a BBA in Accounting.  He received his CPA designation shortly thereafter.  Coach Bush has been involved in girls' basketball for more than 10 years, first in the City Recreation leagues, then with Huntsville Middle School, and for the past 9 years with the Southern Starz AAU Girls' Basketball program.   Coach Bush has been instrumental in growing the Starz program from 1 team (of 9 & 10) yr olds in 2000 to 8 teams consisting of more than 90 players (from all over N. Alabama and So. Tennessee) in 2008!  As a Starz Coach, he has led his teams to 7 AL AAU State Championships and 5 AAU National Top 10 finishes, including a Runner-Up finish in the 14U age division in 2006. 
His teams have also captured Alabama state titles in YBOA
as well as in the Alabama Sports Festival.  Since the Starz first graduating class of 2007, more than 20 players from the 
classes of 2007, 2008 & 2009 will have moved on to play
basketball at the college level, including 12 players in NCAA
Division 1.

Guntersville Wildcats with Looney as a 4-year starter 131-11
1973  - Kent averaged 19 points as a freshman
1974 - Kent’s average increased to 24 points as a sophomore
1975 -
Kent averaged 32 points a game, Guntersville rolled to a 29-2 record, he was the state champions - MVP
1976 -
Kent averaged 35 points a game, Guntersville went 27-1 in the regular season state runner-up - MVP.  Kent was listed as one of the Top Five players in America and MVP of the Super Five in Alabama Career stat of 8 rebounds per game|
  His high school coach Jim Rhoades said, “He was only 5-9 but could dunk it anyway. On defense, I’ve seen him pin the ball against the square and the officials wouldn’t call it because they couldn’t believe a kid that small could get up that high.”  College career ended with UAH in the National Championship NAIA game in Kansas City before losing 86-85 in overtime to Bethany Nazarene
